We Still Have Wallop

Sadly we are down to our last cat. I don't know what to do with this blog after he dies of old age or whatever. I'd like to think we'd rescue more cats, but as long as we are stuck with being renters, adopting animals is tricky. Our new landlady is okay with one cat. Otherwise we wouldn't be moving there next week. I feel a little sad about the whole thing. I used to have so many pets, but in hard times, I can't see getting more.

Sometimes Love Means Saying Goodbye

We had to bid adieu to our cat Rocky.  He was in declining health.  We couldn't see any outwards signs of problems. The vet said he had a tumor in his abdomen, and no matter what kind it was, there was no way to remove it that would end up with a positive outcome, so we made our farewells and stayed at his side until the very end, giving what love we could in the last moments. Here are some photos I took right before we went to the vet to see if we could save him or not. The vet was a friend of ours and made it as comforting as he could. The receptionist came in even though the office was extremely busy, and give me a long hug. So next time you have to wait a long time at the vet, please remember they might just be helping someone say goodbye to a 15 year old friend.

Cats Asleep

It looks like they were playing Twister and dozed off. For years they wouldn't sleep near each other, but now they tend to cuddle up more. Rocky on the left and Wallop on the right, both sound asleep.

When Your Cat Trains You

This morning I woke up to a meow and opened my eyes to find the cat staring at me again.  Aha! So he is meowing to wake me up.  But just one meow, so he looks all innocent when I 'randomly' wake up.

Bodyguard

Lately when I wake up, I open my eyes and find my cat Rocky sitting by my head staring at me. If I doze off and wake up a bit later, he is still there, just waiting. Finally I just get up and he wants his food. At least he hasn't resorted to pawing at me or biting my nose.  It's just a little creepy having a stalker.
